Obituary

Shirley Silvernail, 87, of Indian Land, SC, went to be with the Savior she loved on June 27, 2020. Shirley was born December 17, 1932 in Colby, KS to Hershel and Lena Singer. She grew up with her five siblings on the family farm in Hale, MO. She graduated from Hale High School where she played basketball and drums in the marching band. While working in Kansas City she met Carl Silvernail. He was stationed there with the Air Force. They married in 1953 and moved to upstate New York where they raised their four children: David, Linda, Lori and Steven. She enjoyed homemaking, gardening, sewing, and the fellowship at Berean Baptist Church. Shirley was devoted to her family, celebrating each one as the family grew. She was kind, loving, accepting, and generous - caring for many family members over the years. Later on, she worked for IBM in Endicott, NY until her retirement in 1991. She and Carl enjoyed traveling in their motor home over the next several winters, often with family. They enjoyed meeting new friends around the US with favorite places being FL, CA, and TX.

In 2006, they moved to Clover, SC, joining First Baptist Church where she and Carl enjoyed an active ministry and made many dear friends. Shirley was a people person and made friends everywhere she went. She never lost the desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed, but has left us with many sweet memories.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Lena Singer; her husband, Carl; her son, Steven; her brothers Bill (Jean), Joe (Dorothy), and Jack (Lois), and her sister, Priscilla (Lyman Watt). She is survived by her brother Wilbur (Midge); her children, David (Terrie), Linda (Bob Krewson), and Lori (Mike Yessa); twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to First Baptist Church of Clover, SC.
