All men and boys are invited to our G.E.M. Club event February 6!
We’re excited to share a new chapter in our senior adult ministry here at Harvest Baptist Church. Many of you have known this ministry as Young at Heart. As we’ve prayed and planned, we’re proposing a new name that better reflects God’s design for this season of life: Maturity Matters – The M&M’s.
The vision is simple: to see every senior adult at Harvest growing in Christ, serving the Lord according to their God-given gifts, and leaving a spiritual legacy for the generations that follow.
Scripture reminds us that God’s people still bear fruit in old age, that gray hair is a crown of glory, and that older believers play a vital role in strengthening the church. This ministry celebrates the wisdom, faithfulness, and ongoing value of senior adults in God’s plan.
Maturity Matters will focus on biblical encouragement and prayer, meaningful fellowship, practical care so no one walks alone, and opportunities to serve with purpose. Planned activities include monthly luncheons with singing, devotion, testimony, and prayer, along with special trips and a senior adult retreat.
A task force is already at work, and there will be many opportunities for everyone to serve and participate.
If you are age 60 and above—or know someone who would benefit from encouragement and community—please plan to join us Friday, January 30, at 11 AM, in the Hansen Building, for our first luncheon of the year.
More details will be coming soon. Thank you for praying with us as we launch M&M: Maturity Matters.
Born July 16, 2023, our sweet Adelynn (Addy) Mae Harrison entered a world filled with joy, love, and the energy of her three older, protective brothers. Though she was the youngest and only girl, she quickly grew into her baby sister role. She loved all things girly but knew how to keep up with her big brothers even if it meant playing in the dirt. She could fend for herself and knew what she wanted.
Her beautiful, innocent spirit brought immeasurable joy and love to our family. Her parents, Derrick and Krysti, delighted in every moment with their precious daughter, cherishing her sweet personality and the joy she brought to their lives. Everywhere she went, she bounced or ran with her little blond tuft of hair blowing in the wind, dragging her blanket behind—her spunky personality and smiling eyes charming everyone around her.
On December 15, 2025, Addy, only two and a half years old, was called home to be with the Lord. Though her time on earth was brief, Adelynn’s life was a precious gift from God to us. As Psalm 127:3 reminds us, “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him,” and she certainly was. Addy was that gift—formed by the Lord and artfully “knit . . . together in [her] mother’s womb.” God tells us that “every day of [her] life was recorded in [His] book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:13, 16). We know that she was and is precious to God. He loves her even more than we do.
Though we are crushed in our spirit that she is absent from us, we know that she is alive in the presence of God, safely in His keeping. We know this because God’s own precious Son was born and died to pay the payment for our sins. But Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death forever.
She leaves behind her devoted parents, Derrick and Krysti, and her three loving older brothers, Ryland (8), Beckhym (6), and Cayman (4), who cherished her deeply. She was also well loved by her grandparents, Karyn St. Amand, Keith St. Amand, Sr., Christine and Rick Harrison, many doting aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her church family and youth group will feel her absence as well and miss her laughter and little voice in our halls. We all look forward to the day very soon when we will hug her once again.
