Kathryn Sauer Latimer (June 2, 1941–October 11, 2026)

Kathryn S. Latimer, age 85, beloved wife, mother, and friend went to be with the Lord on October 11th, 2026. She passed peacefully after a long illness.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Colonel David M. Latimer Jr.; son, David Barnes; daughter, Linda Swann; sons, David Latimer III and William Dillingham, and daughter Laura Latimer, and one sister, Laurain Hauser of Port Orange, Florida.

She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and her brothers-in-law, John Latimer and Berkley Latimer, and their families. Lastly, she is survived by her husband’s step brother, Grant Gehebach and his wife, Nancy.

Kathryn was a long-time employee of Bank of America, retiring in 1985 as a vice president. After retirement she pursued her love of quilting and won awards as a quilter. She also taught quilting for many years.

Kathryn was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC.

A memorial service will take place on October 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Harvest Baptist Church, 153 Miller Pond Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730. The family will receive visitors prior from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the family plot in Marietta, GA at a later time to be determined.
