Harvest Baptist Reassembly Update

August 28, 2020

HELLO EVERYONE!
We are excited to announce that this coming Sunday, August 30th, we will be moving into the second phase of our Reassembly Plan. This phase (called “Refocus” in our plan) essentially keeps all current procedures in place while introducing children’s programs and regular Sunday School classes. Please take some time to read through the notes below so you know what to expect when you come Sunday.

PHASE 2

  • All logistic and sanitation procedures from Phase 1 will continue (alternate row seating, no passing of the offering plate, no hymnbooks, etc.).

  • The Children’s Sunday School Program will begin on August 30th. All classroom assignments will remain the same.

  • Children’s Church during the 11:00am Worship Service will begin next week (September 6th).

  • We currently only have enough volunteers to serve in the nursery for Sunday School, one morning Worship Service, and the evening service. Until further notice, Sunday nurseries will be available only for the 9:45am Sunday School, the 11:00am Worship Service, and the 6pm Evening Service.

  • Adult Sunday School classes will resume on September 6th with the following schedule: o Intro to Harvest (Pastor Marshall): 301

    • Larry Doig’s Sunday School Class (Sermon on the Mount): 302–304

    • Matt Storey’s (and others) Sunday School Class (Through the Bible): Auditorium

    • Teen Sunday School Class (Pastor Drew): 305

    • College / Career Sunday School Class (Micah Brighton): Glass Classroom

    • No ABF tables.

    • August 30th will be the last Sunday School live-stream.

  • Wednesday Night Schedule starts September 2nd. We will resume:

    • Discovery Club, 7:00–8:00.

    • Truth Trackers, 7:00–8:05.

    • Y.E.S. Groups (Youth), 7:00–7:30.

    • Adult small group prayer time, 7:00–7:30.

    • Bible Study, 7:30–8:00.

    • HBBI, 7:30–8:30 (starts 9/16).

We will evaluate in the next several weeks and communicate when we have decided to move to Phase 3.

REMINDERS

  • All are welcome to attend as long as you are not currently exhibiting flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath). Government guidelines request that “individuals with serious underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, and those whose immune system is compromised such as by chemotherapy for cancer and other conditions requiring such therapy” should stay home during this time.* If you are not well, we encourage you to let us know and watch the service from home.

  • We will not police or enforce social distancing; however, we will encourage it. For the time being, our greetings should be “non-contact.” Smiling and waving are appropriate! As hard as it will be, please refrain from shaking hands or other physical contact with those outside your family. Please note that while we encourage social distancing in the auditorium, we understand that children likely will not. During Phase 2, Children’s Sunday School and Children’s Church rooms will be set up as normal.

  • If you test positive for COVID-19 and have been to a church service, please inform the office as soon as possible (welcome@harvestrockhill.org).

  • Please maintain strict personal hygiene during this time. Be considerate of others and follow guidelines for coughing, washing your hands often, and maintaining a safe personal distance from others. Make use of hand sanitizer.

  • Help us keep the church clean and functional by taking care of your family’s belongings! After each service, please pick up any trash (papers, wrappers, etc.) belonging to you or your family and dispose of it. Our cleaning staff will be extra busy keeping the church clean during this time. They will appreciate your help!
