Starting on September 2nd, we will begin a new sermon series exploring the life of Samuel in the Old Testament. For thirteen weeks, we will see God's hand at work in the life of this willing servant who submitted himself willingly to the word of God and the authority of God. We will see the importance of obedience, and the consequences of following your own desires. We will learn about the character of God as someone who, as 1 Samuel 16:7 says, does not look "at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." In these stories from 1 Samuel, the Lord shows himself as patient, merciful, and just — a God truly worth worshipping.
